Today, Sunday, 19/3/2023, the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, discussed the researcher’s higher diploma thesis (Qamar Jawad Abdul Karim) as part of the requirements for obtaining the higher diploma in family and community medicine. The study was titled:

Assessment of Dietary habits among Medical and Non-Medical University Students in Kerbala

This study aimed to evaluate the dietary habits of students of medical colleges compared with students of non-medical colleges, and to identify the variables that contributed to the poor eating habits of students.

The sample included a study of 400 male and female students from four different colleges at the University of Karbala.

This study concluded that although medical college students had a higher level of understanding of nutritional behaviors and lifestyles, it was not represented in their practice, which needs to be addressed.

This study made several recommendations, the most important of which are:

The educational institution will establish a multidisciplinary team with expertise in health promotion, including nutrition and exercise programmes, in order to raise awareness among university students.

After the researcher presented her research and discussed it by the committee, the esteemed committee decided to accept the study, with a very good grade.
