The College of Medicine at the University of Karbala organizes a specialized scientific workshop on cybersecurity strategies.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Khalid Khalil Al-Araji, the college organized a scientific workshop entitled:

“Cybersecurity: Protecting Digital Assets in a Connected World.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturers Mohammed Abbas Abdul Hussein and Wathiq Abdul Jabbar Sabah.

The workshop aimed to enhance technical awareness of the concepts of protecting systems and networks from cyberattacks and ensuring the security of sensitive information. The lectures covered the following main topics:

Pillars of Information Security: An overview of the CIA (Customer Information Security) triangle, which ensures confidentiality, integrity, and data availability.

Digital Threats: An analysis of malware risks, ransomware attacks, and social engineering techniques.

Defense Mechanisms: Highlighting network security technologies, data encryption, and two-factor authentication (MFA).

The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Developing Proactive Solutions for Detecting Intrusions.

The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the need to adopt best technical practices and regularly update systems to address rapidly evolving cybersecurity challenges, thus ensuring a secure digital work environment for the educational institution.
