The Division of Continuing Education in Karbala Medicine holds a course on the dangers of drug proliferation

The College of Medicine, University of Karbala, and under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Riyad Dehoud Al-Zubaidi, held a scientific awareness session on the dangers of the drug scourge and its consequences. The reports issued by the drug department in the province indicated an alarmingly high percentage of drug users. Educational and health institutions should pay attention and raise awareness in this regard.

If the addict persists in drug use and refrains from treatment, he may reach the stage of no return.

In addition to the psychological harms of drugs, there are many other harms related to drug addiction, such as the damages that may affect society, such as road accidents and the addict’s resort to theft and perhaps murder sometimes, in addition to the harm that the addict inflicts on himself, as it may sometimes reach the turnout of a drug addict on suicide.

The course aims to reduce the spread of drugs and community awareness in the presence of professors, employees and students from inside and outside the college

For his part, M.M. added Abdulhadi Moanis Obaid: And as they always say that prevention is better than cure, the same is the case with drug addiction. And get rid of its effects before reaching the stage of addiction.

As recommended by Dr. Ali Tariq Abdel Hassan: One of the preventive measures that should be taken early is to consult a specialist doctor for the treatment of addiction, and to choose a treatment center or sanatorium to find out the degree of addiction reached by drug users, and thus determine the appropriate treatment program.

Present at the course are:
