Laser applications in ophthalmology

The Faculty of Medicine, Karbala University, held a scientific course in the medical physics branch on laser applications in ophthalmology and its various developments
Lecturer Dr. Moayad Abdel Latif, a teacher in the surgery branch, teacher Dr. Khaldoun Khalil, and teacher Mahdi Al-Musawi, a teacher in the medical physics branch, lectured. The course dealt with the physical properties of lasers, how to produce lasers, wavelengths, and their uses in ophthalmology, and the different parts of the eye.
The course also aims to educate faculty members and faculty members about the latest findings of ophthalmology and its use in correcting eyesight from shortness, far, astigmatism, leaving glasses, as well as treatment of closed-angle and open-angle glaucoma, and retinal treatments, especially in patients with diabetes, to protect the eye from white and black water.
Also, Dr. Muayad added to us that the laser added multiple aspects that were difficult to treat previously, but now it has become available, and advanced laser devices abroad are also available, and our expertise is very advanced, and we are excellently trained.
