The Times ranking released the results of its edition of Arab Universities for the year 2023, which evaluated two hundred and seven educational institutions from fifteen countries.
Twenty-six Iraqi state universities, as well as a number of private universities, achieved important competitive ranks for the first time in the edition of the Times ranking of Arab universities (click here), where Baghdad University ranked (40), followed by the Universities of Technology (=50), Mosul (51-60), Babylon (61-70), Basra (61-70), Nahrain (71-80), Nasiriyah (71-80), Kufa (81-90), Anbar (101-120) and Tikrit (101-120), Karbala (121-140), Qadisiya (141-160), Al-Qasim Al-Khadra (141-160), Diyala (141-160), Kirkuk (141-160), Wasit (141-160), Al-Ain (161+), Middle Euphrates technical (161+), future (161+), Muthanna (161+), Islamic (161+), central technical (161+) and Missan (161+), Northern technical (161+), southern technical (161+) and Dhi Qar (161+)
The competing universities are evaluated according to twenty performance indicators within five main axes: teaching (31%), research environment (31%), research quality (24%), international outlook (8%) and Society (6%).
It is worth mentioning that Iraq has achieved the 37th place globally in the times world ranking for the year 2024 through 13 Iraqi universities that recorded their competition and attendance in the ranking in which 1904 universities from 108 countries around the world competed.
