(The role of collagen deposition markers in interstitial fibrosis of the myocardium for atrial fibrillation disease ) by researcher Mustafa Hamid Mehdi
The study investigated the relationship between blood levels of (PICP, CITP)and interstitial fibrosis of the heart muscle in patients with atrial fibrillation and the impact of the resulting risk factors ،
The study also included( 120) cases of different ages and by interpreting the electrocardiogram in accordance with the recommendations of the American College of Cardiology /American Heart Association and the European Society of Cardiology, as the study included paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, persistent atrial fibrillation, permanent atrial fibrillation, and single atrial fibrillation .
The study also aimed to detect interstitial fibrosis of the heart muscle and atrial fibrillation disease early and reduce the incidence of this disease .
The study found that an increase in the percentage of collagen deposition in the heart muscle causes interstitial fibrosis of the heart muscle, leading to the occurrence of atrial fibrillation, and in the other leads to the development of myocardial hypertrophy.
