A scientific study at the University of Karbala – College of Medicine discusses the types of evaluations and bacterial causes in critical cases of blood poisoning

A master’s thesis was discussed at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Karbala, in the branch of microbiology, by the student Hijran Tawfiq Adel Shaalan, which was titled (Evaluation of Presbysin, Calprotectin, and Bacterial Etiology for Adult Patients in Critical Cases of Septicemia).

The study included different pathogens with the development of infection such as fungi, viruses, parasites and bacteria, where the knowledge of the pathogen responsible for infection is essential for the subsequent management approach.

This study aimed to evaluate serum levels in patients with septicemia as well as to compare the diagnostic utility of these biomarkers with the conventional diagnostic methods used for septicemia.

The supervising committee recommended granting the student Hijran Tawfiq Adel a master’s degree with distinction, which consisted of the presidency and membership of:
