The UI Green Metric World University Rankings announced its 2024 edition results, in which 1,477 universities from 95 countries around the world competed.
The UI Green Metric ranking is based on key criteria that measure indicators related to the campus environment and infrastructure (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), optimal water use (10%), education and academic programs and research (18%), and transportation and mobility within the campus (18%).
The official ranking website (https://greenmetric.ui.ac.id/rankings/overall-rankings-2024) showed that seventy-eight Iraqi universities achieved positive competitive ranks, with the University of Babylon ranking 119th globally, followed by the universities of Anbar, Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical, Baghdad, Karbala, Basra, Al-Kafeel, Northern Technical, the Islamic University, Sumer, Warith Al-Anbiyaa, Al-Mustansiriya, and other governmental and private Iraqi universities.
