At the Graduation Ceremony of the 31st Class of Al-Nahrain University, the Minister of Education Affirms: The Success Achieved in University Institutions is Based on the Quality of Programs and Keeping Up with Knowledge and Labor Market Changes

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, affirmed that the success achieved in university institutions over the past two years is based on the quality of academic programs and keeping up with changes in knowledge and the labor market.

This came in his speech during the graduation ceremony of the 31st class of students from Al-Nahrain University, where he explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research operates according to its strategic policy, work perspective, and belief in the stages of integration to develop and enhance the scientific and research environment. This environment has been the foundation and cornerstone for accelerating the progress of universities, their colleges, branches, departments, and centers in achieving competitive positions in producing published scientific research and leading results in prestigious global rankings and repositories. He also pointed out that the success achieved in Iraqi university institutions during the two years of the Iraqi government’s tenure was based on the quality of academic programs, the positive engagement of faculty members, the linkage between outputs and societal needs, and keeping up with and considering changes in knowledge and the labor market both locally and globally.

In his speech, he reiterated the commitment to implementing the programs outlined in the government program and the ministerial curriculum of the Iraqi government, overcoming all challenges, and adhering to integration based on a clear vision that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is the sectoral authority legally authorized to manage the educational process in all its specializations. It bears several responsibilities, including the noticeable increase in enrollment rates in university education institutions and organizing the relationship with the diverse work environment in both the public and private sectors. He noted that the decisions made over the past two years of performance were in the context of consolidating the culture and concepts of quality in higher education institutions, achieving the highest levels of development in the university environment, enriching and enhancing performance, and strengthening scientific, cultural, and academic exchange between Iraqi university institutions and their counterparts worldwide.

The graduation ceremony of the 31st class included a parade of graduates from the colleges of law, medicine, engineering, sciences, political sciences, information engineering, business economics, biotechnology, and pharmacy, as well as a parade of members of the college councils, faculty members, and the university council. Official speeches were delivered by the President of Al-Nahrain University and the representative of the graduating students, followed by the unified university oath and the awarding of degrees.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, concluded the graduation ceremony by honoring the top students and expressed his congratulations on their anticipated new journey. He also pointed out that the graduation of this group of students from Al-Nahrain University adds additional momentum towards maintaining the academic reputation of Iraqi educational institutions, which have embodied decades of dedication, work, commitment, and responsible performance.
