College of Medicine, University of Karbala holds a scientific educational course on diabetes

The College of Medicine, University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College and the Department of Microbiology, held a scientific educational awareness course entitled (Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes) coinciding with World Diabetes Day.

The course was delivered by:
Assistant Professor Baraq Hamid Jassim
Assistant Professor Ruwa Kazim Muhammad
Assistant Professor Rana Talib Jawad

The course aimed to shed light on the importance of early detection of diabetes, especially for those over the age of 45, with the aim of increasing health and cultural awareness in society and reducing the incidence of this disease and the factors leading to its infection and thus controlling it.

The course dealt with the definition of diabetes, its different types, ages of infection, causes of this disease, the possibility of developing simple cases and how to control them
In addition to providing health and moral support to the aforementioned groups.
Assistant Professor Rana Talib called for eating healthy and varied meals and reducing reliance on hydrogenated oils, fats and products containing processed and added oils.
