The Times Higher Education (THE) has released the results of its edition (International Science Ranking 2025) for the best universities in the field of interdisciplinary scientific research for the year 2025.
The Interdisciplinary Science Ranking evaluated seven hundred and forty-nine universities around the world according to eleven performance indicators in three main areas: (Inputs: 19%), (Process: 16%), and (Outputs: 65%).
The results (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/interdisciplinary-science-rankings#!/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc) showed that the University of Baghdad ranked 161st globally, followed by the Universities of Cihan – Erbil, Al-Mustaqbal, Babylon, Technology, Anbar, Al-Nahrain, Al-Farahidi, Al-Furat Al-Awsat, Tikrit, Diyala, and Wasit.
Competing in this classification, which is the first of its kind to measure the contributions of universities and their commitment to interdisciplinary sciences, in terms of the number of their ranked universities, Iraq was represented by twelve universities, to become third among the participating Arab countries and twenty globally, which is the same contribution occupied by Malaysia and Poland.
