A message from Karbala Medicine discusses the knowledge, attitudes and practices of Karbala University students towards the use of sunscreen

The message of the Arab Council for Family Medicine in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine at Karbala University discussed the knowledge, attitudes and practices of university students towards the use of sunscreen, where the researcher (Suhair Rafeh Karim) presented a message entitled “Knowledge, attitudes and practices of Karbala University students towards the use of sunscreen”

The study aimed to measure the knowledge, attitudes and practices of Karbala University students towards the use of sunscreen and the factors affecting their use of it.

The study found that students’ knowledge about sunscreen use was average, gaps in knowledge and practice were found among students, inconsistent use of sunscreen was identified, and educational programs are needed to bridge these gaps and enhance awareness about sunscreen use.

Assistant Professor of Scientific Affairs at the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Ridha Abu Tahin, chaired the discussion committee for the professional master’s thesis in family medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Al-Qadisiyah, for the researcher (Huda Issa Ibrahim) on her thesis entitled “On the outbreak of measles in Diwaniyah in 2024”
