The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the General Assembly meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held in the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of Higher Education was represented by Undersecretary Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Abdul Jumaili in the sessions that came under the theme “COP28 Outcomes: Infrastructure, policies and skills needed to triple renewable energy production capacity and accelerate the energy transition”.
More than 1,300 participants from 144 countries, including ministers and executives, discussed the strategic pathway for countries and regions of the world based on the COP28 outcomes and the first global assessment of the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
They reviewed priorities for the energy transition and the steps needed to accelerate progress towards doubling renewable energy production capacity by 2030.
