The Faculty of Medicine at Karbala University organized a scientific, educational and awareness seminar entitled “The Coming Danger of Addiction” in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Faculty and in coordination with the Karbala Health Department.
The seminar aimed to sensitize participants to the danger of using addictive substances, whether chemical or herbal, that contain narcotic or hallucinogenic substances and thus lead to addiction.
The seminar addressed several topics, including explaining the concept of narcotic substances and classifying them according to types, as well as explaining the concept of addiction and the psychological and physical symptoms of the addict, in addition to prevention and treatment methods.
