“In the presence of a prominent Arab academic figure, the University of Baghdad has assumed the rotating presidency of the Arab Universities Union for its 56th session, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the union’s establishment.

The University of Baghdad hosted the general conference of Arab universities, attended by a gathering of parliamentary, academic, and Iraqi Arab personalities, as well as representatives from international organizations and associations.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, warmly welcomed the Arab university delegations in Baghdad, expressing the joy of the Iraqi academic community for leading this session.

He emphasized that the Arab universities’ meeting represents a crucial opportunity to enhance academic cooperation and contribute to creating an environment for responsible ideas that drive educational development within Arab academic institutions.

Dr. Lotfi Belkacem, President of the previous union session from the University of Sousse, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for holding the conference in Baghdad. He looks forward to a new phase of collaboration between Arab universities and educational bodies, aiming to establish effective foundations for joint work. Dr. Al-Hadi Belhaj Saleh, President of the previous union session from the University of Montasser, affirmed that the challenges facing our Arab societies are evident, and it is the responsibility of universities to address them through scientific approaches. He highlighted that the Arab Universities Union serves as an essential platform for collaborative efforts among Arab universities.”
