Professor Dr. Riad Mahi Aboud Al-Saigh, a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, participated in the Gulf Cooperation Council conference, which was held in the Sultanate of Oman.
The participation of Professor Dr. Riad Al-Saigh in the conference was represented by his research entitled “Translocation through peritoneal dialysis complexities, preserving residual renal function and benefits of residual renal function”, in addition to chairing one of the sessions and evaluating the participating research to determine the three winners of the best three research in the field of kidney diseases and treatment with peritoneal dialysis for kidney failure.
In appreciation of his participation in the conference, Al-Saigh was honored with the conference shield by the Minister of Health of Oman.
The aim of the conference is to exchange knowledge and experiences among specialists in the field of peritoneal dialysis, and to discuss the latest developments and innovations in the techniques and methods of peritoneal dialysis, as well as to enhance the prospects of regional cooperation among the member states in the field of health care, especially in the treatment of kidney diseases, in addition to raising the level of awareness and education about the importance of preserving kidney functions and managing complications associated with peritoneal dialysis, and building professional and academic networks among doctors and specialists in the region to improve the quality of health care for kidney patients.
