His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Riyadh Dhia Al-Zubaidi, on the occasion of Iraq’s international recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), as a center that grants accreditation to medical colleges after achieving the global requirements in the quality of medical education, so that our graduates enjoy an equal opportunity with the graduates of prestigious colleges in the world in the quality of performance (knowledge, skill, medical behavior) and in continuing the journey of excellence in medical education.
Al-Zubaidi explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by His Excellency the Minister, honored the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges for its achievement, and the colleges that obtained full or conditional accreditation, including the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, to be a prominent mark in the history of those colleges and the first students who achieved advanced ranks in the exam of the Creativity and Excellence Award.
He added that we aspire to see our country take the lead in this matter in the region in a near perspective, and the world in a studied and planned one over a longer term.
It is worth mentioning that the College of Medicine, Karbala, played a major role in this achievement for more than 13 years, where it held dozens of specialized conferences, workshops and seminars that deal with medical education, in addition to the actual application of the integrated medical education system, and the College of Medicine, Karbala, was distinguished by using the strategy of medical education based on the medical problem and a rigorous evaluation system.
