The Women Empowerment unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Karbala university, organized an educational scientific seminar “on confronting violence against women and family violence with a legal perspective” in conjunction with the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women .
The seminar was attended by A. M. Dr. Mai Muhammad Ali, M. Dr. Asma abdelkazim Mehdi, m.M. Nawal Moussa, to raise cultural awareness of the concepts of violence against women and clarify the most appropriate strategies to reduce this phenomenon.
The seminar included an introduction to the concept of this phenomenon, the causes and forms of violence against women, as well as helping women overcome the effects of violence, improving mental health and enhancing endurance, as well as empowering women to work on changing the prevailing culture in society and spreading social awareness.
