The minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, received the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Baghdad, Mr. Alireza Koni, and his accompanying delegation and discussed joint academic cooperation between the Universities of the two countries.
The minister of Education stressed working on a strategic policy to establish cooperation and coordination programs with the countries of the region and the world to serve the university education environment in Iraq, especially after the clear direction of the Iraqi academic institution to improve quality tracks and enable universities to achieve their goals, mission and vision in competition and harvest indicators responsible for a sound academic reputation.
He added that the Ministry of higher education and scientific research is looking forward to effective steps in the field of scientific partnerships and agreement on the exchange of experiences, the development of scientific research tracks and the reception of more international students within the study in Iraq initiative.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador expressed his country’s desire to open an international branch of one of the Turkish universities in Iraq, noting at the same time the Turkish side’s interest in supporting joint scientific work, scientific twinning programs, exchange of students and academic experiences.
