He participated in teaching at the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Karbala University. M. Dr. Mohannad Yahya Idris al-Muhanna discusses the doctoral thesis of the researcher (Rawa Hussein Bayi) tagged with (the study of nerve conduction as a predictor of peripheral vascular disease in Type II diabetes patients : the role of peptide associated with calcitonin genes) .
The aim of this study was to find the relationship between peripheral neuropathy and peripheral arterial disease in patients with Type II diabetes mellitus and to evaluate the effect of a peptide associated with the calcitonin gene on the development of peripheral neuropathy or peripheral arterial disease in patients with Type II diabetes mellitus .
The study concluded that there was a significant increase in the percentage of glycated hemoglobin( HbA1c) and a significant decrease in the levels of the peptide associated with the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)) in patients with peripheral neuropathy, which confirms the role of this peptide in causing the development of peripheral neuropathy and peripheral arterial disease in patients with Type II diabetes .
