A dissertation was discussed in the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, in the branch of chemistry and biochemistry, presented by the student Nabaa Haider Ali, which was titled (Studying the relationship between endothelin-1 and visfatin with insulin resistance in women with polycystic ovary syndrome).
The study included the study of polycystic ovaries, which is a common endocrine disorder that affects women of childbearing age and is considered a risk factor for infertility.
The aim of this study was to evaluate serum endothelin and visfatin levels among women with PCOS and control screening. This may be a pre-indicator of PCOS.
Finally, the student concluded through her research that: Polycystic ovary syndrome is manifested by high levels of circulating androgens and low estradiol. Moreover, changes in the lipid profile plate were also related to the balance in steroid formation.
The student, Nabaa Haider Ali, obtained a master’s degree with distinction for her research. Submitted and by the decision of the recommendation of the formed committee.
