Today, Monday 11/14/2022, the Deanship of the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, held a welcome meeting with the new students admitted for the academic year 2022/2023. Where the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Riyad Dehoud Al-Zubaidi presided over the meeting, and the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel-Ridha Abu Tahin, the administrative assistant, Prof. Dr. Bashir Aqil Al-Ali, the first stage official and the head of the anatomy and histology branch, Prof. Dr. Sinai Al-Bazi, and Head of the Pharmaceutical Branch, Dr. Ahmed Hashem, and the head of the Registration Division, Prof. Dr. Alaa Khaled.
The Dean welcomed the new students and indicated that they are the superior scientific elite and will become doctors of the future and provide the best medical and health services to the Iraqi society, and they must adhere to the professional ethics of medicine, which is an essential part of the medical profession.
The meeting included many important points and advice that students should take into account, including:
- Encourage them to be present at all times.
- Avoiding absences, as the mechanisms for calculating absences and their consequences were explained.
- Instructions regarding student hours.
- Not to be drawn into false and malicious news and rumors.
- Cooperation and respect for all.
- Indicating that Karbala medicine is characterized by scientific sobriety and keeping pace with global scientific development in the field of medicine and medical education.
The students expressed their desire to study medicine as a humanitarian profession first and to provide health services to the community.
