Karbala University students organize a conference to combat violence in Iraqi society

Students of the College of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry at the University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Iraqi Human Rights Watch Association, organized a student conference on the phenomenon of violence in society, with the participation of representatives from the Iraqi parliament, civil society organizations, religious, literary and academic figures.
The President of Karbala University, Prof. Bassem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, said, “The university administration encourages these conferences organized by students, because they are the builders of society.” phenomenon of violence.
Al-Saidi stressed: “It is necessary that the professor and employee at the university bear the responsibility of dealing in a positive spirit with the students.”
The conference, which was held under the title (Towards Humanity: From Violent to Conscious), shed light on the types of violence, including domestic violence, violence within educational and educational institutions, and within health institutions, and the role of the media in confronting and limiting this phenomenon.
The conference, which was held in the hall of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Karbala, aims to find appropriate solutions to reduce the phenomenon of violence in Iraqi society.
The conferees recommended the necessity of enacting laws that protect human rights, including the domestic violence law that disrupts two parliamentary sessions, rejecting hate speech and extremism, working on the principle of the rule of law and consolidating human rights concepts based on the educational institution.
