Discussion of a master’s thesis in Karbala medicine on the relationship of interleukins with the severity of childhood asthma

A master’s thesis was discussed in the College of Medicine / University of Karbala (the relationship of serum interleukins 15, 22, 23, with the severity of children’s asthma) The thesis was submitted by the student (Boys Ahmed Jabbar Al-Tarifi) of the Microbiology Branch and received the degree of excellence
The study found a high significant relationship between the level of immunoglobulin E and interleukin 23 in the serum with asthmatic patients. The study revealed a significant difference between mild and moderate asthma with regard to the exacerbation of the disease with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. In addition, there is a significant difference regarding treatment between mild and moderate asthma patients. .
The results of this study indicate a high level of interleukin-23 in the serum of the patients group compared with the control group, so interleukin-23 may have an important role in diagnosing children with severe asthma.
