A thesis at Karbala University discussing the relationship of chemokines with disease severity

The master’s thesis at the College of Medicine at the University of Karbala examined that the Corona virus family has significant human and animal pathogens. At the end of December 2019, the new Corona virus was identified as the cause of a group of pneumonia cases of unknown causes. Soon, the new Corona virus spread widely, which led to its spread throughout China, followed by a pandemic, and an increasing number of cases in various countries around the world. CCL2 is the prominent chemokine strongly associated with coronavirus, other chemokines such as CCL5 and CXCL10 may be elevated in corona patients. The master’s thesis entitled Relationship of chemokines (CCL2, CCL5, CXCL10) with disease severity among patients infected with corona virus by student (Hussain Amer Muhammad) Hussain ) . I took four semesters and got an honors degree. This study aims to investigate the role of the chemokines CCL2, CCL5 and CXCL10 as immunological markers for disease severity among patients infected with the emerging coronavirus. These signs may have an important role in diagnosing severe coronavirus infection.
