University of Karbala Launches Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities

The Technology Incubator Division at the University of Karbala launched the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week with the participation of various university colleges.

A group of university colleges is participating in the week’s activities, which are sponsored by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and supervised by the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali.

The launch event was attended by the university president, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, his administrative and scientific deputies, Professor Dr. Jasim Al-Barak and Professor Dr. Haider Mohammed, deans of the colleges, and a number of professors and students.

The university president, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, stated, “This distinguished event embodies our shared vision towards empowering creativity, enhancing innovation, and transforming ideas into tangible realities that serve our communities and contribute to building a promising future based on knowledge.” He explained that entrepreneurship is not just a job or an economic project, but a path that creates change and drives development towards a brighter future.

He pointed out that “the university seeks through this week to empower our youth with knowledge, inspire them with motivating examples, and encourage them to turn their ambitions into tangible realities.”

For his part, the head of the Technology Incubator Division, Assistant Lecturer Ali Muslim, mentioned that “the division is the implementing body for the various activities of the week in cooperation with the university colleges.” He explained that Global Entrepreneurship Week includes more than 100 activities, ranging from workshops, training courses, discussion panels, scientific lectures, and success stories of university students and professors, in addition to a hackathon for software developers at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an annual event in which various countries around the world participate by organizing activities, events, and competitions that aim to inspire students to explore their potential as entrepreneurs, exchange knowledge and scientific experiences, develop academic skills, and encourage university students to innovate and engage in entrepreneurship.
