The Student Activities Department at the university organized a scientific symposium on how to reduce negative phenomena in society and raise awareness of the importance of reporting cases of blackmail in cooperation with the College of Administration and Economics and the Karbala Police Command.
The university president, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, stressed that “the adolescent category is the most vulnerable to drifting towards deviant behavior, calling for the need for everyone to play their role in confronting various negative phenomena, most notably drugs and electronic blackmail.”
The university president warned students against falling into the trap of blackmailers and drug dealers and the need to be careful and cautious of their despicable methods, urging students to report suspicious cases.
The symposium was attended by the university president’s assistant for administrative affairs, Professor Dr. Akram Al-Yasiri, a number of deans of colleges, members of the provincial council, and security and tribal figures.
For his part, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Dr. Hashem Al-Hussaini, stressed that “the university is constantly seeking to play an active role in preserving society and keeping it away from deviant and alien trends, ideas, appearances and behaviors.” For his part, Director of Karbala Crime Control, Brigadier General Alaa Al-Hasnawi, stressed the need to raise social awareness of the importance of combating blackmailers and spreading awareness of the need to report any case of blackmail to save what can be saved from the victims.
