The College of Medicine, University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the college, held a scientific, educational and awareness seminar entitled “Because you matter… Pink Month for Breast Cancer Awareness” coinciding with the Pink October.
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of early detection of breast cancer, increase awareness and enhance the health cultural level of society in general and women in particular, and how to control this disease as well as support patients by sharing their experiences with others under the slogan “Together we are stronger”
The seminar addressed the definition of breast cancer, the different stages of this disease, methods of detection, and clarifying the relationship resulting from the dietary pattern and the possibility of the disease developing, in addition to providing psychological and moral support to patients. It also addressed scientific and medical developments in combating this disease.
