A message from Karbala Medicine discusses the knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers of children with febrile convulsions and what is related to them in the holy city of Karbala

The higher diploma thesis in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Karbala discussed the knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers of children with febrile convulsions and what is related to them. The thesis submitted by the researcher (Israa Jawad Abbas Mirza) included the title “Knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers of children with febrile convulsions and what is related to them in the holy city of Karbala 2023”

The study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers of children under the age of five who suffer from febrile convulsions in the holy city of Karbala and to evaluate the factors associated with their knowledge, attitudes and practices.

The study also found that mothers had poor knowledge about febrile convulsions, and that better knowledge was associated with higher maternal education, older maternal age, working mothers, higher income, urban residence, and moderate attitude toward febrile convulsions. Better attitude was associated with higher paternal education, moderate practice toward febrile convulsions, and better practice was associated with mothers of higher age groups.
