The master’s thesis in the Department of Clinical Chemistry, College of Medicine, University of Karbala, discussed the evaluation of potential biomarkers before and after coronary artery catheterization. The thesis was submitted by the researcher (Rasha Mohammed Sharmukh Abdul Abbas) entitled “Evaluation of potential biomarkers before and after coronary artery catheterization”.

The discussion committee consisted of:
Prof. Dr. Narjes Hadi Mansour, Chairman

The study aimed to study the role of albumin biomarkers modified for ischemia

The study also concluded that IMA, in addition to other clinical factors, can be used to improve risk stratification for patients undergoing coronary artery catheterization, especially those expected to be complex. The study showed that ischemia-adjusted albumin levels can be used as a marker to assess the degree of ischemia occurring during therapeutic catheterization, especially in patients with major arterial occlusion with branches.
