The study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices related to diabetes among type 2 diabetes patients in Karbala city and to assess the factors associated with their knowledge, attitudes and practices. The study also found that most patients have average levels of knowledge, attitudes and practices, and despite relatively adequate knowledge of diabetes, there is still room for improvement in understanding, commitment and management. Continuing education programs and health care attention are needed to enhance patients’ knowledge and attitudes toward the disease and its complications, as well as to promote adherence to practices.
