The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched programmatic accreditation standards for faculties of law in Iraqi universities within the context of national programmatic standards.
This came at the official ceremony held by the National Council for the Accreditation of Law Schools in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department at the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Agency.
The head of the Supervisory Authority, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, and the head of the National Council for the Accreditation of Law Schools Programs, Dr. Nizam Jabbar, explained that the launch of program accreditation standards will enhance the integrity of specialized educational programs and pave the way for institutional accreditation and that law schools are invited from now on to submit their applications for program accreditation.
The programmatic accreditation standards for law schools include six areas: (organization and administration) by twenty indicators, (legal education programs) by thirty-five indicators, (faculty members) by twenty-two indicators, (admission and student services) by twenty indicators, (libraries and information resources) by sixteen indicators, and (facilities, funding sources and equipment) by fifteen indicators.
