The Ministry of higher education and scientific research held a seminar on the occasion of the World Anti-Corruption Day and a week with the participation of researchers, academics and specialists.
The undersecretary of the ministry for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adnan Ibrahim al-Jumaili, said in his speech that the Ministry of higher education and scientific research has succeeded in establishing a sound environment to identify and combat manifestations of corruption through the transition to automation and digital transactions.
For his part, the director of the legal department, Dr. Ahmed Jafar Shawy, and the head of the national integrity and anti-corruption strategy team at the federal Integrity Commission, Mr. Wissam Hussein, discussed the importance of implementing the national integrity and anti-corruption strategy, institutional evaluation indicators and annual achievement rates achieved in this field.
The symposium, which was held under the slogan (with integrity we build homelands), reviewed the aspects that lead to corruption, its causes and how to address them through raising community awareness and indicating the risks of corruption and its future effects.
