Under the auspices of the president of the University, Prof. Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel al-Saidi, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Riad dhihoud al-Zubaidi, the continuing education division, in cooperation with the Directorate of civil defense in Karbala, held an awareness training course entitled “Civil Defense for workers in scientific laboratories” on Tuesday, 28-11-2023 .the lectures of the course were delivered by (Lieutenant Colonel Ghaith Mahmoud Hassan, Mr. Khudair Abbas Mohammed, and Mr. Hussein Hadi Hussein) at the Directorate of civil defense in Karbala.
The course dealt with the most important preventive methods to avoid fires as much as possible, and what an individual should do in the event of a fire, as well as the most important instructions are to call directly to the number (115) of the Civil Defense Directorate for the arrival of firefighters as soon as possible to the scene of the fire.the lecturers also stressed that fire bottles should be provided in every house and Department to try to reduce the effects of fire until the arrival of the concerned cadres. in addition, the lecturers provided a tariff brief on the types of fire bottles and the most useful and ways to use them according to the place where this type of other is required.
At the end of the course, the professors and lecturers listened to the questions of the attendees from the Faculty of Medicine, answering them with all professional and scientific answers, in addition to training the attendees on the methods of using extinguishing bottles and their various types .
