Iraq and France sign an agreement on scientific, cultural and research cooperation between higher education and scientific research institutions

The republics of Iraq and France signed an agreement on scientific, cultural and research cooperation between higher education and scientific research institutions in both countries.

The agreement was signed by the minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, and the representative of the French government, Mr. Eric Chevalier.

The bilateral cooperation agreement is part of the partnership agreement signed by Prime Minister Mohamed Shi’a al-Sudani and president of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron on January 27, 2023.

It includes the establishment of partnerships and cooperation between higher education and scientific research institutions in the fields of science, engineering, environment, archaeology, heritage, law and the French language, the exchange of visits to academic institutions, participation in conferences, seminars and joint research projects, the exchange of scholarships, the development of doctoral programs and scientific residencies.
