On the occasion of Iraq being ranked 37th in the world .. The minister of education honors universities that have achieved competitive results in the Times rating

The minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, honored the Iraqi universities that achieved competitive results in the times world ranking.

This came during the ceremony held by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research on the occasion of Iraq’s obtaining the thirty-seventh place in the world.

In his speech, the minister of Education stressed that this achievement was unprecedented in the history of the Iraqi university institution, which is distinguished by its antiquity, uniqueness, leadership and scientific presence at the regional level, pointing out at the same time that this success would not have been achieved without the concerted efforts of all at the Ministry of higher education and scientific research and its universities and its dedicated teaching staff keen to strengthen and enhance academic reputation locally, regionally and globally.

He added that the results of the global ranking, which ranked Iraq thirty-seventh globally, clearly indicate that the higher education institution has a mission and vision related to a strategy with a tangible impact in managing reality and dealing with the requirements of the near and distant future and looking at them through a lens that gives clarity to roles and precise identification of responsibilities.

He added that this achievement holds everyone doubly responsible, starting from the minister, the university president, the dean of the faculty, the head of the branch and Department, in order to increase the effectiveness in the teaching and learning environment and the development of its academic programs, stressing that this path is the necessary way to achieve competitive advantage and the ability to improve the level of scientific production.

The minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, expressed his thanks to the university administrations, faculty, researchers and students who contributed to this achievement, which represents a concrete result and evidence of the rise of the academic quality index in the fields of teaching and scientific research.

In the context of the ceremony, the undersecretary of the ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abdul Dahad, presented a comprehensive presentation of the results of the classification, its criteria and indicators, which are distributed in the fields of Education Environment, Research Environment, Quality of scientific research, international vision and industry income.

At the end of the ceremony, in which the universities that achieved positive ranks in the international Times ranking, namely technological, Nahrain, Qadisiya, Babylon, Diyala, Anbar, Baghdad, Basra, Karbala, Kufa, Central Technical University, Mosul and al-Mustansiriya, were honored, the minister of Education stressed that the desired ambition in the coming days does not stand at the level of recommendations, but goes beyond that to the stage of real embodiment of programs responsible for academic modernization, program accreditation and capacity development so that the goals and mission of higher education in Iraq are achieved along the lines of Advanced International experiences.
