The branch of family and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Karbala University, held today, Thursday, 16-11-2023, coinciding with World Diabetes Day and within the activities of the World Entrepreneurship Week, a scientific seminar entitled (diabetes) in the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Riad dhayoud Zubaidi, distinguished assistants of the Dean, a number of faculty teachers, associates and students, and interested guests in this regard .
The seminar aimed to shed light on diabetes, its causes and Prevention, its severity, the importance of early diagnosis and adherence to the correct treatment plan in order to maintain health and avoid the disease and its complications, as well as to educate and guide students about the risks of diabetes, causes, symptoms and methods of prevention.

The slogan of this year’s World Diabetes Day is “providing health care to all patients with a focus on raising awareness of those affected and at risk”. diabetes is one of the main causes of patients and deaths worldwide and is becoming more widespread in our region, and there is almost no person who does not have a relative with diabetes. the seminar also included activities by college students including blood sugar testing, weight measurement, height to calculate body mass index.
