The Medical Microbiology Branch at the College of Medicine is discussing an electronic master’s thesis

On Thursday 12/3/2020, the Medical Microbiology Branch of the Karbala University College of Medicine discussed a master’s thesis by student Zainab Rahim Radi, an electronic discussion, the title of the message tagged Serum level of ccl20, cxcl 10 interleukin 17 and interferon gamma in patients with vitiligo and their association with disease Activity, i.e. level cxcl10, ccl20, interleukin 17 and interferon gamma in the serum of vitiligo patients and its relationship to the activity of the disease. The discussion committee consisted of professors and instructors, both Ali Tariq Abdel-Hassan, Assistant Professor, Board of Dermatology, College of Medicine as Chairman, Ibtihal Jiyad Abbas Abd al-Hadi, Assistant Professor of Immunology, University of Kufa, College of Medicine as Member Rana Fadhil Obaid Al-Kalabi, Assistant Professor, PhD, Parasitology, University of Kufa, College of Medicine, Member, Alaa Saad Hanfoush, Assistant Professor, Board of Immunology, University of Karbala, College of Medicine, Supervisor and Member, Dhamia Makki Hamza, Assistant Professor, PhD, Parasitology, University of Karbala, College of Medicine, as a supervisor and member. IL-17, CCL20, and INF were significant, while CXCL10 was not significantly related by disease activity. It was found that CXCL10 and CCL20 had a non-significant relationship compared with the VIDA score, where IL-17, INF and a significant relationship were observed. While compared with the VETF score, INFγ and CXCL10 were found to have a non-significant relationship, while CCL20 and IL-17 had a high significant relationship. In her discussion, Zainab indicated that, in conclusion, they could be IL-17, CCL20 and INFوي as a vital marker for evaluating vitiligo activity. The study recommended other studies that include the gene expression of IL-17, CCL20, CXCL10 and INFγ. And the study of IL-17, CCL20, CXCL10 and INFγa with the technique of histological chemistry. At the end of the discussion that lasted two and a half hours, the committee decided to grant the student a master’s degree with a grade of excellent.
