Exam instructions for the integrative curriculum

In implementation of the exam instructions for medical colleges that follow the integrative curriculum and pursuant to the administrative order 953 on 1/3/2017 attached to the administrative order 132 on 01/10/2017, which includes the formation of the calendar quality assurance committee in the college to study and implement the supplement to the exam instructions for the integrated curriculum and the amount for the college in the book No. (25390 on 4/26/2016) by the margin of Mr. Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Iraqi Colleges of Medicine and attached to the book No. (2000 dated 27/3/2016) issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up

It was decided that:
. The system of study in the college shall be an annual system for the stages (second, third and fourth).
. The study system for the first phase is comprehensive (quarterly + yearly)
. The study system for the fifth and sixth stages shall be in the form of clinical courses
. The graduation exam will be at the end of the sixth year, including all courses for the fifth and sixth years, and some subjects chosen from the first phase.
. Increase the number of constructive exams for the purpose of following up student achievement, reforming his academic career, and developing his cognitive ability, and their grades are not counted in the achievement exam
The weekly achievement test is canceled and replaced by the constructive examination (TBL).
. The Medical Education Unit is responsible for conducting the weekly structural exam in terms of preparing questions in coordination with professors of subjects for each week and attending all professors of the week (TBL)
. The presence of TBL is compulsory for all students and the student is not entitled to enter the final exam for the year in the event that his absence rate exceeds 10% according to the instructions in force
. The written end-of-unit exam is after the end of each individual unit
For units with a 12-week duration, the OSKI and USB exams are at the end of the unit
. For the rest of the units, the (OSCE + OSPE) test will be for each two units simultaneously
. The degree of the endeavor is 20%, and the share of each academic unit in the endeavor is calculated according to the number of academic weeks and educational outcomes, both of them, or one of them.
. The distribution of the final score for the achievement exams for the end of the unit is as follows (written exam 60% – OSPE exam 10% – clinical station exam (OSCE 30%)…

. The student takes a comprehensive final exam for all units of study in the year, and his share is 80% of the year’s degree.
. The distribution of the final score for the achievement exams for the end of the year will be as follows (written exam 50% – OSPE exam 15% – clinical examination exam (OSCE 35%)
. The number of stations in Oski is determined according to the goals of each unit and the number of its weeks
. The osky exam is on the same day, so all students can sit on the same stations
. The OSCY Committee determines the number of stations to pass for each exam, and any of the stations where success is a prerequisite for passing the exam.
. The Evaluation Quality Assurance Committee conducts statistical checks once the results of all stations are sorted and before announcing them to conduct a verification examination of Kronbach to enhance confidence in the results and determine the degree of success for each station and in light of the results the committee can delete some stations
. The College Curriculum Committee announces basic Mastery skills and how to distribute it between the years of school.
. A committee is formed in the college to determine the mechanism for accomplishing the training of students on basic practical and performance skills and to supervise their exams.
. The practical and performance skills exam depends on performing the skill with complete mastery and is carried out with three attempts. Her exam will be with the unit end exam and it is considered a binding condition for entering the final exam.
. The Basic and Performance Skills Committee will provide the Medical Education Unit with the results of all students two weeks before the end of the year
. There is a committee in the college to determine the behavioral and professional rules that must be distinguished by the graduate doctor
. The professional behavior and behavior that violates the rules of behavior is a reason that the student does not participate in the achievement exam for any unit of study in addition to the annual final exam.
. Success in the continuous evaluation and his student bag (PBL – Portfolio) is a binding condition for participating in the final exams for the year, and no grades are specified in the achievement exam.
. (The student’s success in the continuous evaluation and the portfolio of achievements will be PBL, PORTFOLIO)) on the condition of satisfactory fulfillment and according to a standard evaluation form for PBL, PORTFOLIO to be announced by the Medical Education Unit
. The Medical Education Unit provides students with feedback on their performance in the continuous evaluation and the student bag at the end of each academic unit.
. Satisfactory fulfillment depends on the student passing the unit of study with optional subjects and no grades are specified for him within the achievement exam
. The daily on-site assessment is obligatory to perform as a constructive evaluation that is binding for the student’s entry into the final achievement examinations and he is within the student’s portfolio and his grades are not specified in the achievement exam.
. The Quality Assurance Committee issues a unified model for on-site evaluation, which will be circulated to all professors to abide by, and success in on-site evaluation will be based on satisfactory fulfillment condition.
. Clinical branches provide the Medical Education Unit with reports that students complete their on-site assessment two weeks before the end of year exam
. The minimum passing score is 50, adjusted based on calculating the standard criterion for all subjects and academic units. The college may adopt a specific number of correct answers in the written exam as a condition for success.
. The Evaluation Quality Assurance Committee calculates the standard criterion for passing exams before and after exams and according to the international methods used
. Success in the theoretical examination and the clinical examination separately are a prerequisite for success in the final achievement exams.
Students who have failed must repeat the (second round) exam in the same form and forms as the first round.
. The student is exempted from the written or clinical exam in the second round in the event of obtaining a passing grade in either of them, and limiting the exam to the part in which he failed.
. Students who failed in the second round of the final exam repeat the whole year, always and exam.
. The comprehensive exam (gate exam) scheduled at the end of the fourth stage is canceled.

The calculation of the final grade for a graduate of the College of Medicine is according to the following distribution:
First stage 40%

            First stage 6%

            Second stage: 8%

            Third stage 12%

            Fourth stage: 14%

The second phase 60%

            Fifth stage 20%

            Sixth stage 15%

             Final Exam 25%

.The student is not allowed to participate in the annual final achievement examination except by achieving the following conditions
.The student does not violate the behavioral and professional rules and exam instructions prescribed in the college
. Satisfactory Compliance for Continuous Assessment and Student Portfolio (PBL, PORTFOLIO)
. Success in mastery of basic practical and performance skills (Mastery skills)
. Satisfactory completeness of the site evaluation
. Student absences should not exceed 10% in TBL
. Concerning the fifth and sixth semester exams, it is as follows:
The site evaluation score is 20% of the end of the course
The end-of-course score will be 80% (40 written + 40 clinical)
The student is not allowed to participate in the final exam of the course, except by achieving the following conditions:
The student does not violate the behavioral and professional rules and exam instructions prescribed in the college
Satisfactory completion of continuous evaluation (on-site assessment + student’s achievements (PORTFOLIO) and according to the approved evaluation form a binding condition for participation in the end-of-course exam
. Success in mastery of basic practical and performance skills (Mastery skills)
. The end of the clinical course exam will be in the form of OSCE stations, provided that the OSCI stations will be in accordance with regulations determined by the Quality Assurance Committee
